Catholic Daughters of the Americas, (CDA), Court 2732, Luz de Vida was established in 2017 and is made up of about 40 women who are parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
CDA is active in providing spirituality and support to our parish through various parish projects throughout the year. We help women develop their spirituality and provide avenues of service to live out that spirituality. We give members a unique opportunity to share their faith with other Catholic women.
Each year CDA, Luz de Vida administers the Angel Tree project and in union with the Knights of Columbus provides Christmas Gifts, and food to our needy families. In 2021, 101 children received gifts and 35 families were provided Christmas dinner.
This year 2022 CDA, Luz de Vida, is awarding 4 scholarships for $ 250.00 each on a competitive basis to parishioners who are pursuing further academic achievement. It is hoped this will be the first an annual event.
Our events are made possible by two fundraisers each year. The major of which is our annual BBQ brisket dinner. All of our activities demonstrate our united faith that makes us strong as we are one in Christ.
